KUDOS for Country Bo

For more than a decade we have been honored by their comments about our service and integrity. Please take a moment to read what they have written.

DEAR COUNTRY BO:

Dear Mr. Dunn,

It takes special people to make the time to remember the children and families at Ronald McDonald House. You are among them. Thank you for scheduling to provide dinner for June 1 , 2007. Generous contributions such as this help us meet the needs of more than 1,800 families each year. For this we are truly grateful.

As our mission states, the Ronald McDonald House is committed to providing a "home away from home" for families with children hospitalized or receiving outpatient care in the Louisville area. As you can imagine, caring for up to 29 families at one time can be expensive. Your support enables us to keep our costs low and to honor our commitment that "no one is ever turned away for an inability to pay."

On behalf of the families, the board of directors, and more than 150 volunteer and staff members, thank you for your generosity.

Jana Goemmer,
House Manager

Country Bo:

...The Center for Women and Families would like you to cater our annual "Parade Day" staff/board/client event at our location, as you have graciously done in the past years!

Being new to the organization since January, one of the first things that staff has asked was to insure you would be here for this event. All I've heard is how wonderful the food and event is.

As usual, this event will be on Thursday (Parade Day of Derby Week), May 3rd. I believe we eat at/about 12 noon- 2:00 p.m. I expect that the number of staff/board/clients would remain the same as in past....

Chris Dudley
Director of Human Resources
Thanks again, and we look forward to seeing you again!

We were so glad that it was a beautiful day on Wednesday, June 25, 2003!!! That was the day you brought your grills and barbecued for our customers and volunteers here at the Franciscan House. The ribs, pulled pork, chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers you supplied tasted so good and was such a treat for our customers. The food was wonderful. We received several calls the next day wanting to know if we were serving up another barbecue. we said no, but assured the callers that the Dunns' would return again. we thank you, and are gratified by your generosity. May god continue His Blessings on you and your family.

Everyone is still raving about the delicious dinner you prepared for our children and families. How can we ever begin to thank you for volunteering your services at our annual Birthday Party Bar-B-Que? Meals on Grills really went all out and made our party the best ever! The kids are already asking when you're coming back. I'm sure I told you that Iroquois Child Care serves nearly100 children ages 6 weeks - 11 years. Almost all of our families reside here in the Iroquois Homes Housing Project, or in nearby subsidized housing. All are living well below the poverty level. You should know that your act of kindness and generosity fed some of Louisville's neediest children.

Thank you so much for volunteering your services at our Family and Staff Picnic. Many of our children and teachers have tasted your delicious BBQ when we were invited to the annual St. Francis picnic. Now all of our children, staff, parents and families had also a chance to sample some of your outstanding cooking. As you know, California Day Care serves over 130 inner-city, underprivileged children. Because our center is located in one of the federal housing projects, most of our families are living below poverty level and can't afford few extras. That's why what you're doing for us is so special. Thank you again for thinking of us.

WOW!!! What a great day we had at the Franciscan Shelter House on Tuesday, November 5, 2002. That was the day you cooked for our customers and volunteers on your grill in our parking area. The ribs, pulled pork, chicken, hot dogs and hamburgers you supplied were so good and tasted like a summer picnic on that cold and rainy day. god definitely has a sense of humor. You said you did your best grillin' in the rain and we know that to be true. The food was wonderful. May God continues His Blessings on you and your family.

On the behalf of all our staff, our sincere thanks for making our outing at Mount Saint Francis such an enjoyable and delicious event! That was a real treat for our staff, who are so dedicated to our mission and who, as you know, are certainly not overpaid for the work they do. You are good people for being so generous with your time, talent and treasure. Thank you for showing such appreciation for those who serve children and others in our community who are disadvantaged.

The campers, volunteers, and the Friends of Indian Summer would like to thank you both for the donation of the delicious barbecue and other food that made camp a success. The camper evaluations listed the Thursday night cookout as one of the high points of the entire week. June 2 through June 8, we had 64 campers and 50 volunteers at camp Cedarmore. There were more children under current treatment for their cancer than ever before. It is usually difficult finding something that tastes good while they receive treatment. Due to your effort and dedication, getting the children to eat was not a problem. Again, thank you for your continuing support.

Thank you both from the bottom of my heart for your tireless help in making last Saturday's Alumni Celebration a wonderful and happy occasion! We enjoyed such gorgeous weather, didn't we?! I honestly don't know what I would have done without your help, Brigitte, in determining the logistics of the food items! and Ben, my goodness - how many 100's and 100's of hamburgers, hot dogs, etc did you end-up grilling?! All I know is that I saw you there about 10:30 am and you didn't stop grilling until 5:00 (or thereafter!) that's a lot of cooking! Everything tasted so very delicious! Thank you both again!

Once again, the clients and staff of The Center for Women and Families owe you a debt of gratitude for the generous and wonderful barbecue that you provided. Thank you so much for your generous gift of that delicious barbecue dinner for Wellspring last Friday night. Considering these are lean times for us financially, it was especially gratifying that we could have such a nice dinner for all of our staff and residents, without costing the agency a dime.
